Product Overview

GenieMat® FFNP is a flat, resilient, under-screed acoustic underlay made from recycled car tyres. It is predominantly used to meet the impact sound insulation performance standards for floors set out in Approved Document E (Part E) of the British Building Regulations 2010.

When this acoustic underlay is installed in conjunction with GenieMat PMI perimeter isolation, it provides a low-risk, high-performance solution to meeting Part E of the Building Regulations.

This all depends on your floor/ceiling build-up and the targeted impact and airborne sound insulation performance. We have test data for a number of systems and will be able to help guide you to the right solution.

Yes. On projects where wet trades are being avoided, GenieMat® FFNP can be installed directly under any type of board material.

The flanking perimeter isolation detail shown above is considered one of the most important details.

No matter how good your acoustic underlay is, if there is no perimeter isolation or it is poorly installed, it will significantly reduce the overall system’s performance. For more details on getting this detail right, do reach out to us.
